How Our Services Have Evolved
In the late
1980's working as a staff accountant with the Lockheed Corporation in
Santa Clara, SVCG founder Ron Johnson was often called upon to evaluate
the profitability of potential business opportunities.
With the importance of resources
in the Aerospace Industry, Mr. Johnson found it imperative to create a
forecasting model that incorporated all resources such as personnel,
investment capital, expenses, and equipment.
Shortly thereafter the Silicon
Valley boom began. Mr. Johnson introduced his model and expertise to
several high-tech companies including Intuit Inc., the creator of Quicken
Software. After a number of success stories as a result of Mr. Johnson's
model it became clear there was a far-reaching need for a resource based
forecasting tools and processes.
To meet this need, the Silicon
Valley Consulting group was formally established in 1991. For the past ten
years our services have helped plan, launch and grow over 50 organizations
from within 20 industries.
Over this period our core competency of financial
modeling has broadened in scope and strengthened in application. SVCG
provides clients much more than a simple set of financial forecasts. With
the SVCG process, senior management can weight the impact of multiple
financing rounds, additional product/service offerings, rapid staffing,
outsourced services and alternative financing strategies.
Today SVCG serves a variety of
client needs. Start-up companies look to SVCG to provide expertise,
guidance and support. Established companies call upon SVCG for strategic
planning, process improvement, decision analysis and database reporting.
SVCG assists Investors and Incubators with research, due diligence, and
start-up mentoring.
Successful consulting efforts create satisfied
clients. As we define the second decade of SVCG services, our focus
remains on innovative tools, prompt service, and most importantly -
results.
